Odontostreptus sjoestedti is one of the less commonly imported Cameroonian spirostreptids and is seldom seen in collections. Like most of the West African trade species it arrives as wild-sourced adults.
These are founder animals. We label them imported rather than captive bred, and we keep them with the intention of producing captive offspring.
Care
- Substrate: deep decaying hardwood and leaf litter, kept consistently moist — millipedes eat their substrate
- Calcium: cuttlebone or limestone available at all times; essential for moulting
- Food: hardwood leaf litter and rotting wood, supplemented with vegetables
- Handling: harmless, but they secrete a defensive fluid that stains — wash hands after
Imported. Adults. Origin: Cameroon, West Africa.
